Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps are a brand-new product that will appeal to crafters and non-crafters, alike--not to mention kids!
The easy-to-use cookie stamp has a solid wood handle with three interchangeable stamp images: a heart, a jack-o-lantern, and a snowflake.
Just make your favorite shortbread cookie dough (or one of the two included recipes) and stamp away! Create beautiful, hand-stamped cookies in a flash. The stamp images are completely food-safe and child-friendly.
I made a batch, using one of the included recipes, to take to the Christmas Stamp-A-Stack today...
And here are some packaged for the ladies to take home. I used the Warmest of Wishes hostess set available in the Holiday Mini Catalog to make the tags and tied them on with Baker's Twine.
Mmmmmm...shortbread. These cookies were really fun to make. Any shortbread or no-rise cookie recipe will work best with these stamps and Stampin' Up! includes 2 tested recipes to get you started. A few tips:
- The dough needs to be soft but not sticky, chill if needed
- At first, I rolled out the dough, stamped it then cut with a round biscuit cutter (actually, I used a canning jar). This resulted in somewhat thinner cookies than I was looking for so I followed the instructions to form a round ball of dough, placed the ball on the cookie sheet and flattened with the stamp. To clean up the edges, I used the jar on these also. Bingo - thicker cookies
- I dusted the snowflake and jack-o-lantern stamps with flour before pressing to help prevent sticking. The heart stamp has thinner groves and I found that spraying it with cooking oil spray worked best
