Amazing Family

With the start of this new year I am happy to begin to show you some of the new products available in the Spring Mini Catalog. The stamp set I used on this card is called Amazing Family and besides the friends stamp it includes stamps for sister, mother, brother and father. It is a gorgeous font! The chalkboard theme seems to be quite a trend right now and I have to admit I love the look. You can be sure you will see more white ink on Basic Black cardstock in the future.
There are several items on this card from the new catalog. Notice the Honeycomb Embossing Folder, the 1-1/4" Basic Gray Two-toned Ribbon and the Large Basic Rhinestone. I also used Basic Black and Melon Mambo cardstock, the Boho Blossoms Punch and the Labels Collection Framelits for this card.

You can begin ordering from the Spring Mini Catalog on January 3rd. That means, if there is anything left that you have been eyeing in the Holiday Mini Catalog you must order it before the end of the day January 2nd!

Sale-a-bration begins on January 22nd. If you don't have your party scheduled with me yet please contact me soon to pick your preferred date!

Happy New Year and Happy Stamping!

Cookie Stamp Ornaments

It was baking day at my house yesterday. Yummy sugar cookies and mint-chocolate chunk cookies. While we were in the kitchen the kids and I made up a batch of salt-dough ornaments. Did you know you can stamp on dough?
We used the snowflake and heart from the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps Holiday Set. Really! Just inked them up with Midnight Muse and Real Red and pressed into the salt-dough! I used a glass to cut them out.
To make some Gumball Green trees and Daffodil Delight stars we applied ink directly to the cut out shapes.
Don't forget to poke a hole before baking/drying for the ribbon.
Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint was sponged on to add sparkle.

Recipe:
Combined 4 cups flour, 1 cup salt and 1-1/2 cup water. Knead for five minutes. Roll dough on a floured surface to about 1/4" thickness. Stamp the cookie stamp onto a classic ink pad and then press into the dough. Use a small circle cookie cutter to cut out the stamped image. Poke a hole for the hanger. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 45 minutes at 180 degrees F. Let cool. Use a sponge to add shimmer paint as desired.

Last Minute Gift Ideas

Where has December gone? I have been enjoying the excitement of two 4-year-olds as we prepare for Christmas by putting up some decorations and watching the movies that only come off the shelf this time of year. Today I have some quick and easy gift ideas to show you...
These gift card holders are created from just 1/2 of a sheet of card stock and some designer series paper scraps. I got the cutting instructions from a video posted on Stampin' Connection (an exclusive forum for demonstrators) I made several to hold gift cards for teachers, nieces, & nephews.
Score 4-1/4" x 11" cardstock at 3" along one long side. Turn 1/4 turn and score at 3" & 7". Cut off 1-1/4" piece from 3" end and center leaving just 4" to fold up (adhered on outside edge) to hold gift card. (clear as mud?) Save the 7" piece you just cut off for the belly-band. Cut (3) 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" and (2) 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" pieces of designer series paper and adhere to cardstock. Cut (1) 1" x 7" piece of dsp for the belly-band. Embellish, fill and give.
Aren't these the cutest? They make the perfect gift for teachers, neighbors, the mailman, UPS driver, bank teller, and anyone else you want to wish a Merry Christmas to. Brenda has a tutorial here
I made 17 of these for Isaac to share with his class and 10 for Toni's class. The glowing round thing is actually a bouncy ball. I cut the designer series paper at 4" x 3", folded over our small cello bags and embellished with the Snowflake bigz die and Mixed Medley hostess stamp set.

Merry Christmas friends!
